box number."
When the SAEs arrive full price lists are
sent often including one or two full-page ads (some are
supplied on your CD). A popular method is to offer a free
report (after all you've got thousands to choose from).
Again you place an ad e.g."Free Report. Make Money with your
Computer. SAE to etc" Send the one report and include your
price list for hundreds of others. The prices you charge
vary from £2.00 for a single page report to £30
for a multi-page one.
In direct mail you buy a mailing list of
prospective customers and send details through the post. You
would aim for a 5% response rate but 2% would still be
profitable. There are companies who will mail your ad along
with their own for £30.00 a thousand. If you use this
method and sell something for £20 then you only need
two orders to show a profit!
With display advertising select a suitable
magazine and place larger ads. It's possible to get
full-page ads in some specialist magazines for as little as
£30.00! Even in magazines that you'll find in
W.H.Smith's with circulations of around 20,000, you can
sometimes get a full-page ad for £100. I find such ads
generally result in sales of between £300 and
£1600 per month!
Prove it yourself
Look in an old copy of Exchange &
Mart, Private Eye or in the classified section of any Sunday
Paper. You will see many manuals advertised. Things like
"How To Reduce Your Mortgage", "The Borrower's Bible", "Easy
To Learn Blackjack System","£1000 A Week With Your
Camera", "Forbidden Knowledge", "X Files".
Now look in a recent copy. Amazing isn't
it the same ads are still appearing. Why? Because they work!
