Virtually every newspaper and magazine has homeworking offers promising you that you can earn £££'s working from home as a homeworker. It is a sad fact of life that the homeworking sector attracts more than its fair share of con-artists. Before responding to offers of home based work from companies that advertise for homeworkers, check out our section on scams. It may prevent you from getting ripped off. Generally you will be far better off going into business on your own as a freelancer, using the same skills you are offering to these companies, but if you prefer to test the water without a huge outlay, they can be a good starting point. Don't however underestimate your own ability. If, for example, you can work from home making soft toys to a standard acceptable to a company, you can just as easily make them to sell yourself. Further details are provided elsewhere on this site. For all the latest news reports about homeworkers and flexible working for employees, take a look at our media page. For information on volunteer work, take a look at our Volunteer page. If I have omitted something that interests you, e-mail me, and I'll see about adding a new work from home category. This site deals with UK homeworking opportunities. If you are based outside the UK, please visit our international homeworking site.

Please note - Several of the "job offers" listed in the categories below do not offer genuine work but are an example of the plausible offers you may see advertised in newspapers or receive in the post. If you contact me to request information on these particular offers, I will explain why they are not genuine and issue guidelines to ensure you are not caught out by these companies in the future. Whilst not all the following sites are primarily geared towards home based work, all have featured suitable jobs for homeworkers. On general employment sites try keywords "home based" or "work at/from home". Many of these sites list freelance projects where you can not only offer your services, and set your rates but you also get to see the other bids to give you an idea of the going rate for the work, and also pick up tips on how to present your proposals. Usually any completed projects are rated, making it easier to get awarded future contracts.
