Companies have long used incentives to encourage loyalty amongst customers. Many high street outlets issue cards and award points, exchangeable for gifts and vouchers, every time you shop. Credit card companies sometimes also offer similar programs with cash or points on offer, and airlines offer free flights and other perks to regular fliers. Now this concept is offered on the internet with several companies offering gifts or cashback not only on purchases, but also when you sign up for trial offers, complete questionnaires and surveys or even just visiting websites. The sites listed below are ones I've personally used and from which I've received payouts.

Pigsback.com is an online club of UK consumers and brands that offers members a range of benefits and special offers including the opportunity to enter competitions and polls, as well as earn PiggyPoints, Pigsback.com's currency. These points can be exchanged for a wide range of goods or vouchers for such outlets as CD-Wow, Waitrose, Costa Coffee, Boots, the Burton Group and a wide range of restaurant chains. Points can be earned by visiting sites, signing up for free or special offers and purchasing online and by taking part in quizzes, promotional contests and surveys on the site. You can claim your payment in cash or can donate to your choice from 14 charities listed on the site.  Plentypoints is a new online rewards programme awarding points that can be redeemed against a large range of rewards.
