1. News

Welcome to the latest issue of the Homeworking Ideas newsletter, the monthly publication which gives you all the latest news from the UK on ways of earning money from home.

Pinecone Research
Generally considered the gold standard of paid survey sites, Pinecone Research pays £4 for every survey you complete and these are often accompanied by full size products to test. Unfortunately, they very rarely open their panel to new participants so opportunities need to be grabbed when they occur. This week they opened their doors again so if you're interested in joining visit http://www.homeworkinguk.com/pinecone.htm If you don't see an application form, then it means you're too late. If this should occur, just send me an e-mail and I'll contact you individually next time they are recruiting.

2. Featured Traffic Generation Ideas

In the last few weeks I've received a few requests from subscribers asking me for the best low/no cost ways to promote a new business opportunity they've just signed up to, so this month, rather than the usual format, I thought I'd concentrate on the traffic generating methods that are currently working best for me. All the methods mentioned below work equally well whether you've got your own site to promote or simply have a referral link.

Archerfish
If you're looking to attract UK residents, one of the cheapest yet most responsive sites I've found is Archerfish. You can choose from a range of advertising options including paid e-mails to members, incentivised banners, guaranteed sign-ups and banners or text ads throughout the site. Advertising starts at little over £1 which gets you a boxed ad at the top of the site for 30 days. Despite these ads not being incentivised, I had 90 clickthroughs in the first couple of days alone to the first ad I placed here. You don't have to be a member to advertise, but as a member you can use your earnings to purchase advertising. Find out more at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/archerfish.htm

ClixSense
Another incentive site from which I've always received exceptionally results is ClixSense. With ClixSense you can very precisely target your ads through a large range of categories including country, age, income, interests etc. Prices start at just $6 for 500 visitors to your site and once again, as a member you can use any income earned towards your advertising costs. Unlike most sites you don't need to have earned enough to pay for the whole campaign. If you've earned just 50 cents, for example, then you can use that 50 cents and just make up the difference in cash. Full details available from http://www.homeworkinguk.com/clix.htm

LinkReferral
One site I've been particularly impressed with is Linkreferral. You list the site you wish to promote and for just a small amount of work, you can get a good number of visitors to your site. It works a little like a traffic exchange in that your ranking in the directory is improved by visiting other sites in the directory, but there are two major advantages. With most traffic exchanges, people are surfing as many sites as possible to generate as many return hits and therefore often tend to pay little attention to what is being shown to them. Linkreferral only gives you any benefit from the first 30 sites you visit each day, and to further ensure you take time to look at the sites properly, you get an extra boost to the ranking of your site by providing a review on up to 5 of the sites you visit. The reviews I've received have clearly been from people who've really looked at the content provided. Visit http://www.homeworkinguk.com/links.html to find out more.

Yahoo Answers
Another thing that is working well is answering questions at Yahoo Answers. People post questions on a huge range of topics and you simply post answers with a link to your site so if you were looking to promote health products you could look at questions for people looking for help losing weight and then give them advice and add details of the relevant products you are looking to promote. You'll find Yahoo answers at http://answers.yahoo.com/

In a similar vein, write articles about various relevant topics and post them in some of the many article directories around. You simply add your name and website address at the end of each article and if the article is well written and informative it is likely to be used by others in their website, resulting in your details appearing all over the internet.

Real Link Finder
it has long been known that one of the easiest way to get backlinks to a website is by posting comments on other peoples' blogs. The only problem being that most blogs now use "nofollow" which prevents them from recognised by search engines. One great piece of free software that gets round this is "Real Link Finder which helps you find on-topic blog posts that don't use "nofollow"... so the links you get from leaving comments count towards your link popularity and PageRank scores on Google.
