NEWSLETTER ARCHIVES
MARCH 2003
1. News
Welcome to the latest issue of the Homeworking Ideas newsletter,
the monthly publication which will give you all the latest news from the UK on ways
of earning money from home.
First of all, my thanks for all the good wishes you sent following Daniel's birth
last month. Mother and baby are both doing well.
Advertising Standards Authority
Regulars to our scams page will know that the ASA publish their adjudications
against any complaints received about misleading advertising. This can be a good
way to check out any homeworking or business offers you receive by post or see
advertised in Exchange & Mart or the local paper. Now they've made it even easier
to keep up to date with any decisions made. Just visit their site at www.asa.org.uk
and sign up to receive updates. You can choose which updates you require - I've
opted for all those relating to business, employment and direct mail.
New Survey Site
I've recently come across a new survey site that seems able to send fairly regular surveys.
In my first couple of weeks with Dialego Access Panel I've already had three
surveys to complete. Like many sites, they don't pay you in cash but in points
exchangeable for vouchers (currently Amazon and Chateauonline) with 300 points
being worth 30 euros or £19.50. Just for registering you receive 40 panel points,
which is worth £2,60 (or 4 EURO) and for each survey you receive about 1 to 2 pounds
in panel points. The ones I completed paid 23 points each. You can also earn points
by recommending others so it shouldn't take long to earn your first payout. If
you'd like to join, or find out more, visit our survey page at
http://www.homeworkinguk.com/surveys.htm or e-mail me on dialego@homeworkinguk.com
for an invitation
New Internet Advertising Service
If you’re trying to make sales online, whether through your own site or simply
a replica site provided for you then you’ve almost certainly experimented with
various forms of advertising. Some, if you are totally honest with yourself,
was a total waste of your time and money. Others, however, really did produce the
return expected.
It is no longer enough to have a great banner and display it across multiple
sites and pages in the hope of attracting the right numbers. One method gaining
in popularity is ‘Cost Per Click’ (CPC) advertising by almost the entire major
search engines. While you are only paying for interested visitors, the current
bidding system used by many companies can make the most appropriate keywords too
expensive, or your advertising devalued when you are outbid. A new UK company,
etop, thinks it has found a way around this by setting a fixed CPC rate and then
randomly generating results so that all businesses listed get equal exposure.
Not only that but visitors have to show genuine interest before the charge is made,
so you're less likely to pay for casual visitors who aren't interested in buying.
At just 10p per click, you get 100 interested visitors for just £10.
Compare that with what you pay for other advertising with no guarantees! You can
feature a particular product or special offer, rather than just list the site
details, and can have as many listings as you like as you only pay for clicks not
impressions. As an introductory bonus the company are offering a 10% bonus on your
first deposit. Note that as the site has just been launched there are currently
relatively few listings, but this does mean that your own entries will stand out.
More details available from http://www.homeworkinguk.com/etop.htm
If you'd simply like to sign up as a consumer to benefit from all the special
offers and discounts listed, you'll also find details on the same page.
2. Featured Publication The BOARD (The Business Opportunities
Advertisers Report and Directory) is probably unique amongst business opportunity
magazine in that it takes no paid advertising and so are free to tell their readers
the truth, as they see it, about which business opportunities work and which don't
and over 9 years this subscriber-exclusive magazine has been earning a reputation
for giving reliable independent reviews of business opportunities. In each issue,
the Ratings section examines roughly 10 different business opportunities and gives
each a rating out of 10. This month for example they were looking at Dinky Donuts,
ElearnXpress, Equinex, J S Mouldings, Phase Two Services, Practice Builders and
Telecom Plus together with investigations into such opportunities as HTML Commercial
Ltd, Lawton Publishing Ltd, Stuart Goldsmith Share The Wealth, Your Private Gold
Mine, Peter Newey - Local Authority Search Business, MJ Emm, Euro Business Direct,
CHD and Trusar Marketing, David Mooney and Magic Club, X-Connect & Sex Net,
Sunsweetwin Promo Lotto and Host4Income. Each issue also has a lively Readers
Letters section telling of members' experiences, good and bad.
Additionally they offer subscribers a free "Check It Out First" service
whereby you can send them any marketing material you have received for a business
opportunity which they will take a good look at it and send you back a personal
reply based upon a professional analysis, backed by 10 years experience.
To receive details of current special offers, please telephone 0870 749 6321
and ask for a BOARD information pack quoting reference IHD. (Lines manned 8am to
10pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday. A Voicemail System
operates out of hours.)
3. Featured Freebies
Mothers Day
In case you've forgotten, Sunday is Mothers Day, so this month I've a topical
freebie for you if you're still living at home with your mum. Do you want to
show her that you really appreciate what she does, but can’t think of a way to
show her how you feel? Chances are your mum does all those horrible chores around
the house all year round. So for Mother’s Day this year, why not give her a few
"Good Intentions"?
Created by MumsCover, the new insurance cover for housekeeping, child-minding
& transport costs if mum is ill, "Good Intentions" cost nothing but mean the world.
Just visit their site at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/mums.htm, fill out the details
and press the Create button. They'll produce half a dozen "Good Intentions" for you
to print out and give to the Mum in your family. You can choose from volunteering
to do the ironing, washing up, shop, walk dog, mow lawn, clean, cook meals etc.
and even decide how long for (just today, for a week or if you're feeling really
appreciative - for a month).
If you are the mum of the house, try dropping a few hints to the rest of the family!
Free Lotto Site
Lotto24 is a new free lotto site. Pick 5 from 36 to win £1,111 or 5 from 20 to
win £20. Even if you don't win you earn 10 points per game which become entries
in the monthly draw for bonus prizes. You can play each game 5 times a day and are
told instantly whether or not you're a winner. Visit
http://www.homeworkinguk.com/lotto.htm to play or for more information.
I hope you've found something of interest this month. Speak to you again next month.
