NEWSLETTER ARCHIVES
APRIL 2003
1. News
Welcome to the latest issue of the Homeworking Ideas newsletter,
the monthly publication which will give you all the latest news from the UK on ways
of earning money from home.
FLEXIBLE WORKING
If you've picked up a newspaper in the latest month or so, you can't have failed
to see references to the recent hanges to employment law. From April 6 2003,
parents with children aged under 6 or disabled children aged under 18 will
have the right to request a flexible working pattern and their employers will
have a duty to consider their applications seriously. But how does this affect
you personally? To check your rights you can now visit the DTI website at
http://www.dti.gov.uk/er/flexible.htm
where an interactive section shows you what you need to know. You can also
download the relevant publications on the subject including best practice forms
for making an application.
Games Sites
With school holidays making it somewhat difficult to get any serious work done,
I've been reviewing gaming sites that have the added bonus of actually paying
you while you play. Although you aren't going to get rich from any of these,
the following sites are actually the most fun to play with the payment aspect
simply a bonus. (Only suitable if you have unmetered internet access)
The only site that I know paying out in a cash format suitable for the UK
(via paypal where you can convert dollars to sterling free of charge) is
Cashglow. Recently revamped and better than ever you now have a choice of over
40 games to play online including such classics as Tetris and Pacman. My personal
favourites are "Crash Down" and "Shanghai Dynasty". You earn all the time you
have the games panel open up to 20 hours a month. In addition you get paid
for visiting websites daily (currently 6 paying sites), using the message boards
and signing up for special offers and also earn from the playing time of your
referrals. Check it out at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/cashglow.htm
My favourite games site is actually French, but the games are so straightforward
you don't need to be able to understand very much to make sense of it. I haven't
spoken French since my O' Levels many, many years ago but I can follow it quite
easily. Rather than earning on time spent, you can win euros and cents on your
daily performance on each game so you only get to play each game once a day
(I know I'm addicted when I'm clockwatching for midnight so that I can play
again!) but can easily earn at least a few euros each month, with the potential
of earning thousands on the fruit machine. You also earn 15% on the winnings
of anyone you refer. You can either take your winnings in euros or choose
from a wide range of prizes such as pens, T-shirts, DVDs and watches or save
them up for bigger prizes like DVD players and camcorders. You'll find full
details at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/prizee.htm
New Survey Site
Opinionworld is slightly different from other survey sites I've come across in
that instead of paying you to complete short surveys they make a charitable
donation for each survey you complete (you can currently choose from Unicef,
Amnesty International and World Wildlife Foundation) and you have the chance to
win prizes. Longer surveys also make cash payments to you. To join you need to
complete a fun survey which you'll find at http://www.homeworkinguk.com/opinion.htm.
or click the banner below. You'll then be sent an invitation to join.
2. Featured Publication
Money Master
Whilst there are many monthly magazines produced for people interested in home
businesses, the vast majority are little more than adsheets. One of the most
notable exceptions, and by far my most highly recommended monthly business magazine,
is the long running Money Master. With 32 A4 pages every month you not only get
ads for all the latest business opportunities but you also get hype-free,
frank progress reports from existing agents, independent reviews of new programs,
regular features on internet marketing and online auctions, monthly columns from
successful small business owners, and of course the latest news, scam warnings etc.
As if that alone wasn't enough to make you rush out to get a copy, the subscription packages make this an absolute must for anybody with a business to promote. A basic subscription costs £25 a year and includes a 25% discount on display ads so you effectively get a free subscription with one full page ad, but if you want to advertise regularly then the marketing or executive subscriptions are even better value. The marketing subscription costs £40 a year but this entitles you to a 50% discount on display ads and up to £25 on subscribers you introduce. The executive subscription at £7.50 a month is effectively a free subscription as you receive a voucher each month for £7.50 worth of mailing lists or display ads (vouchers can be saved up to pay for these in full), or a boxed classified ad and lineage ad (worth more than £7.50) in addition to getting the 50% discount on display ads. You also have the option to earn commission on sales of mailing lists and ads and up to £120 a year (£60 cash or up to £120 worth of marketing services) for each new subscriber you introduce.
To get the latest issue, just send 4 1st class stamps with your name and address to The Guardian Business Centre, Money Master (ES-451LOCO), PO Box 34, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, SS2 4AP.
3. Featured Business Opportunity
Prime Time Club is a brand new opportunity to earn money selling DVDs, CDs, Videos, CD-ROMs, DVD Players and CD Players - and also by introducing others who do the same. DVD films are £5.99, video films £4.99 and audio CDs £2.50 - all original items, no counterfeit or pirated copies, so it shouldn't be too hard to make sales. Obviously at these prices you won't be selling the latest releases - the CDs for example are mainly from the 60's and 70's, but having looked through the first catalogue there is an impressive range to cover most ages and tastes.
If you've ever tried catalogue selling before and been deterred by the high cost of lost catalogues, difficulty retrieving orders, problems trying to deliver goods and collect money - then Prime Time could be the one for you as every one of these traditional bug-bears is solved!
Just deliver / show your catalogues, together with an order form and all you do after that is collect commission on orders and payments that customers send into head office. You earn 25% on your sales and save 25% on your own purchases. To boost your earnings you can also introduce others and earn 10% commission on 1st level sales, 5% on 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
The annual fee of £75 includes a free supply of full colour catalogues - and if you introduce others, you earn £20 per member as a commission on their literature - find just four new members to pay your own annual fee! Of course sponsoring others is optional as you'll make your best profits from selling products.
If you'd like more information on this opportunity or simply like to see a
catalogue to make purchases yourself, you can email Joy Healey on joyh@cix.co.uk telephone her on 020 8954 9995 or write, with a large stamped SAE to Prime Time Club, 34 Kynaston Wood, Harrow, HA3 6UA.
4. Featured Freebies
StrikerMillion
Register with StrikerMillion.com now and you get two free chances everyday to win £1 million! Just
pick the 6 correct lucky numbers and the prize money is yours. Even if you
don't match all 6 there are runners up prizes of £1,000 for matching 5 numbers
and £10 for matching 4 numbers as well as your choice from 40 different prizes
for matching 3 numbers. You also get two FREE Golden Balls scratchcards which
could be worth up to £5,000 each. Go to http://www.homeworkinguk.com/striker.htm
for more details.
Xiddi
If you've ever bought DVD's that you know you'll never watch again despite spending a fortune on them, then Xiddi could be the answer.
Xiddi is a DVD trading club that allows users to exchange DVDs for free using a system similar to the new online DVD rental companies that I've mentioned in the past. Since the DVDs are all owned by users
rather than a central organisation, there are no rental or transaction charges.
In fact you only have to pay for postage for each DVD traded. For more information
go to http://www.homeworkinguk.com/xiddi.htm
I hope you've found something of interest this month. Speak to you again next month.
