NEWSLETTER ARCHIVES

JUNE 2005

1. News
Welcome to the latest issue of the Homeworking Ideas newsletter, the monthly publication which gives you all the latest news from the UK on ways of earning money from home.

Skybiz
Anyone who has been around the Home Business Sector for a while will probably Skybiz, a webhosting pyramid scheme that was closed down 4 years ago by the US Federal Trade Commission. $20 million dollars has subsequently been recovered and has been set-aside for former members of SkyBiz. If you lost money through dealing with Skybiz you can now make a claim at http://www.skybiz-redress.com/

Pinecone Research
One of my favourite online survey sites is Pinecone Research but unfortunately they do not allow you to join on their site, only by responding to invitations which don't appear very often. This week however, they have announced that they are looking for mothers of babies age 3 or under from England, Scotland or Wales. If, and only if, that applies to you, visit http://www.pineconeresearch.co.uk/signup/ds10020Referral1.asp to register.

Please note ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD MAY REGISTER. Multiple registrations of the same Household will void all registrations. Once accepted you can expect to receive one survey request approximately every 6 weeks for which you will receive £4 in Luncheon Vouchers, which are as good as cash in that you can use them almost anywhere that sells food - supermarkets, restaurants, fast food outlets etc. You automatically qualify for the survey (no completing half the survey before being told you aren't eligible) and frequently get offered samples of new products to try if you wish.

Saros
If you like the idea of earning cash for offering your opinion, but can't be bothered by online surveys paying you no more than a pound or two, you might like to check out Saros Research. Instead of answering a few questions online you get the chance to share your views in discussion groups (typically £30 - £50 but could be up to £200 for 2 hours work), or by participating in interviews or surveys. To maintain quality standards you will not be able to take part in a discussion group more than twice a year so this isn't going to be a major commitment, but if you have got friends and relatives that might also be interested you can earn 10% on all the payments they receive.

In particular they are concentrating on recruiting for groups in the Greater London area, plus other key urban centres. Visit http://www.homeworkinguk.com/saros.htm for more information. If you're ask for a code, enter 200419.

2. Featured Publication

Logicworks publications Almost everybody reading this newsletter is looking for a way to earn extra income from home, and whilst some of you are only looking to earn a few extra pounds, I know many of you are looking for the perfect opportunity to become your own boss and earn a good income. With the enormous growth of the internet, it's easy to forget that there is a world of opportunity away from your computer and LogicWorks have the best collection of guides I've come across to address "real world" opportunities.

Titles include Start your own Cleaning Business, Become A Plumber, Become A Car Mechanic, Become A Hypnotist, Become An International Teacher and Start a House Makeover Business and are supplied on CD-Rom. These guides go way above simply telling you about the skills you need. In the Car Mechanic guide for example, not only do you get 1000 pages of instructions and diagrams/photos etc about car mechanics you also get a free welding course and a business startup course which includes:

  • Where to get cheap car part supplies and materials - complete directory of over 100 suppliers of car parts, tools etc.
  • How much to charge for your services ?
  • Where to get a van at trade price
  • How do you accept credit card payments
  • Opening a business bank account
  • VAT registration information
  • Guidance on writing a business plan

All this for just £17.95 plus postage and VAT. At this price it's worth getting the guide just for your own use. Think what you could save in garage fees.

You can also download a free guide to Speed Dating just for visiting the site. Full details from http://www.homeworkinguk.com/logicworks.htm

3. Featured Business Opportunity

Kleeneze
With so many new businesses appearing every year, it's easy to overlook the long established companies so this month I thought I'd take a look at probably the oldest of them all.

If you're looking for a suitable business to operate, there are four factors that increase your chances of building a good income over time:

  • A well established company - you don't want the company folding just when you've build a regular income
  • Support and Training - It's virtually impossible to succeed without this
  • Consumable products - If you sell products that people use and replace each month, you can build a regular income from a small number of customers, rather than needing to find new buyers every month.
  • Referral income - Introduce other people and help them do as you are doing, and you start earning on their sales as well as your own

Well, one company that fits this bill better than most is Kleeneze. They've been around for about 80 years, provide free nationwide support and training, and offer around 900 products such as cleaning products, car and garden items and health supplements.

You simply distribute their catalogues to homes in your area (or any other area - there are no geographical restrictions) and then collect up the orders for processing and delivery. A realistic start would be to distribute and collect back 200 catalogues a week (6-10 hours) which could easily result in sales of around £800 a month, from which you'd earn £220.

To quote David, who joined up last year:
"Your review of the Kleeneze opportunity convinced me to give it a try. I have only been working the business for an hour and a half a day for the last couple of months. I made £228 for the last 4 week period, not a huge amount of money but enough to allow me to stay at home to look after my 2 daughters whilst my partner does her regular job. I am going to double the amount of catalogues I have and see what happens."

The current commission rates are from 21% to 37% plus royalty bonuses on the sales of distributors you introduce plus cash & car incentives and the opportunity to qualify for European and international conferences, all expenses paid. Start up costs are only £75, and even these are refunded once you've been with the company for a year. You are not required to pay for any stock until you have been paid by the customer.

The company are currently in the middle of a big expansion, having just launched in the Netherlands, in addition to the UK and Ireland, and have also teamed up with eZe-Talk to offer cheaper phone calls and broadband internet connection. I n addition, they have just acquired Cabouchon costume jewellery business as part of their ongoing strategy to add higher value branded goods to their product range and have made an investment of some £4 million over two years in eezee TV - a joint venture television shopping channel.

If you'd like further information, send me an e-mail to kleeneze@homeworkinguk.com with your name, address and contact telephone number and I will arrange for a distributor to send you a free video information pack. Note You must be over 18 to become an agent.

4. Featured Freebies

Free eBooks
The last few months have seen an absence of freebies relating to work so this month I thought I'd redress the balance with details of a new site where you can get loads of free ebooks on a huge range of topics. Join SureFireWealth.com as a free member and get access to over 50 books, all of which come with Full Give Away Rights. This means you can use them for your own benefit or as free bonuses for new subscribers to your newsletter, mailing list, or to attract attention to your advertising of other products, services etc.

There are also upgrades available if you're looking for the latest products (2005 releases) for your own use or to sell. For a limited period I am able to offer a free 1 year Silver upgrade (worth $97) which gets you many valuable eBooks with resale rights together with software and webpage templates. Type in "HomeWorkingUK" in the special ad code box. Full details available from http://www.homeworkinguk.com/freeebooks.htm

Free iPod Shuffle
If you've been thinking about saving money by changing your bank account or your phone/broadband/electricity provider, now could be the time to do it. Just sign up with Freeipodshuffleuk, take up one of the offers on the site (other offers available) and get 4 friends to do the same and they'll send you an iPod Shuffle. Full details available from http://www.homeworkinguk.com/ipod.htm

I hope you've found something of interest this month. I'll speak to you again next month.
