BOOKS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS

If you have young children or know people with young children, a good starting point is to sell products for children. Obvious choices are books and educational toys and other media.

You can try these out with your own, or your friends' children. You can try party plan - selling in your home to neighbours, friends, local parents etc, distributing brochures in your area, or local offices, shops etc, local ads or set up a stall in your local market. You can combine more than one of these companies to optimise your overheads.

The kit has everything a bright new recruit needs - the best range of titles from popular Usborne series, 2008 catalogues and vital business stationery, worth over £100.

CATALOGUE DISTRIBUTION

You are probably aware of all the mail order catalogues - Littlewoods, Freemans, Empire Stores etc which are advertised in just about every Sunday supplement and women's magazine. The quality of the goods in these catalogues has improved dramatically over the least few years, providing a real alternative to high street shopping. The free postage for returns makes it easy to order goods, without getting stuck with them. Consider ordering a few and having a coffee morning or gathering among friends or neighbours. If you prepare in advance, you could theme it - childrens toys, beachwear etc. You earn 10% on orders placed by other people, or if you prefer, you can earn a few pounds just by persuading people to get their own catalogue. Everything is free so it's a good way to start out if you're considering party plan or doorstep sales in any form.

Alternatively, there are several companies that provide small catalogues, designed to be delivered door to door. You simply deliver the booklet through the door then return later to see if people wish to place an order. There is no hard sell, people get to look at the catalogue at their convenience, but you are on hand to provide help and advice and delivery. You can also sell through party plan or simply by passing catalogues around the office.

Kleeneze

If you’re looking for a suitable business to operate, there are four factors that increase your chances of building a good income over time:

  1. A well established company you don’t want the company folding just when you’ve build a regular income
  2. Support and Training It’s virtually impossible to succeed without this
  3. Consumable products If you sell products that people use and replace each month, you can build a regular income from a small number of customers, rather than needing to find new buyers every month.
  4. Referral income Introduce other people and help them do as you are doing, and you start earning on their sales as well as your own

Well, one company that fits this bill better than most is Kleeneze. They’ve been around for about 80 years, provide free nationwide support and training, and offer around 900 products such as cleaning products, car and garden items and health supplements.

You simply distribute their catalogues to homes in your area (or any other area - there are no geographical restrictions) and then collect up the orders for processing and delivery. A realistic start would be to distribute and collect back 200 catalogues a week (6-10 hours) which could easily result in sales of around £800 a month, from which you’d earn £220.

To quote David, who visited http://www.homeworkinguk.com last year:
“Your review of the Kleeneze opportunity convinced me to give it a try. I have only been working the business for an hour and a half a day for the last couple of months. I made £228 for the last 4 week period, not a huge amount of money but enough to allow me to stay at home to look after my 2 daughters whilst my partner does her regular job. I am going to double the amount of catalogues I have and see what happens.”

The current commission rates are from 21% to 37% plus royalty bonuses on the sales of distributors you introduce plus cash & car incentives and the opportunity to qualify for European and international conferences, all expenses paid. Start up costs are only £75, and even these are refunded once you've been with the company for a year. You are not required to pay for any stock until you have been paid by the customer.

The company are currently in the middle of a big expansion, having just launched in the Netherlands, in addition to the UK and Ireland, and have also teamed up with eZe-Talk to offer cheaper phone calls and broadband internet connection. In addition, they have just acquired Cabouchon costume jewellery business as part of their ongoing strategy to add higher value branded goods to their product range and have made an investment of some £4 million over two years in eezee TV - a joint venture television shopping channel.

If you’d like further information, E-mail me your name, address and contact telephone number and I will arrange for a distributor to send you a free video information pack. Note You must be over 18 to become an agent.
